 This article is about Wangari Maathai, because she is a very important person for the peace of the world.

Resultado de imagenShe was born in 1 April 1940 in Nyeri, located in Kenya and she unfortunately died in 25 September 2011. With 3 children: Wanjira Maathai, Waweru Maathai, Muta Maathai.

She had a very unusual life for an African of her generation. Although, as most of the girls went for water  "very clean, not polluted",  she managed to study.

She returned to Kenya with her newly released independence and began a teaching career that would lead her down the rungs of activism. 

The first university nurse in East Africa,  in 1971, began to fight in the defense of academic freedom in a country that was headed towards authoritarianism and corruption. And because her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace, he had the nobel price of the peace in 2004, with 64 years.

An ovarian cancer took the life from the Nobel Prize. A woman very strong and very difficult to control. She, who never surrendered to abuses, said, "Experience has taught me that serving others has its rewards." Humans spend so much time accumulating, trampling, denying other people. Who inspires us even after death? Those who served others who were not them. " Like her.

We need more people like Wangari, a person who  fought against social injustice.
